UNDERSCORE MARKETING ANNOUNCES SIX NEW CLIENTS, ADDS THREE KEY EXECUTIVES

December 4, 2002. New York, NY - Underscore Marketing LLC, the leading cross-platform media consulting firm, today announced the addition of six new clients to its roster, as well as the appointment of three new executives to round out its management team.

Marketing firms Brand Entertainment Studios, JEMC, Inc. and CMG Communications have all engaged Underscore to provide media planning, buying and relationship stewardship services. In addition, Norelco Consumer Products Company, a division of Philips Electronics North America Corporation and Sudden Industries have both selected Underscore to provide media consulting and analysis duties for their brands.

In addition to these new media clients, DoubleClick, Inc. has engaged Underscore to provide training services for its sales and product development teams.

"Underscore Marketing knows how to train people on the essentials of both traditional and interactive media and that's why we requested their expertise in this area," says Denise Siedner, Product Director, Online Advertising Solutions, DoubleClick Inc. "The seamless integration of all media platforms is very important for DoubleClick as we view the marketplace as a totally integrated world, and Underscore will work with us to facilitate this perspective at all levels within the company."

These new clients join Underscore’s roster, which includes iMedia Communications, the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), Sabre Virtually There, OpCenter.net and others of a confidential nature.

Three senior execs join management team

Jim Meskauskas joins the Underscore as chief strategic officer. A veteran of both traditional and interactive media, Meskauskas was formerly with Sharpe Partners where he served as Media Director and has planned and bought media for such clients as Burger King, Nestle, Sprint and BankAmerica. He is recognized as an interactive industry leader, having worked for some of the world’s first interactive agencies, including Left Field and USWeb/CKS. A founding board member of the Society for Internet Advancement in San Francisco (SIASF), Meskauskas has also been writing weekly columns on media buying and planning for such publications as ClickZ and Mediapost since 1998.

Eric Porres joins Underscore as its director of operations. He comes from Fortune.com, an AOLTW Company where he was director of production, and has previous experience at leading media companies including The Walt Disney Company, Live Technology and Agency.com, managing global project teams to deliver award-winning interactive experiences for such clients as Sprint, Gucci, Goldman Sachs and MetLife. In 2000, Porres and his colleague at Outrageous Media won both a W@MMY from the National Academy of Recording Artists & Sciences and a Yahoo! Internet Life Award for the webcast of Paul McCartney’s "Run Devil Run" concert in Liverpool, England.

Denise SooHoo joins Underscore as director of media services. A well-recognized member of the New York media community, SooHoo started her career at TBS Media Management, a traditional media buying firm. An early entrant into the interactive marketing space, SooHoo has held media positions at Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG and Blue Marble ACG. She has also held management positions at Agency.com and i-traffic, where she oversaw the media teams for Sprint, Nokia and Bookspan. SooHoo joins the firm from her own consulting practice, where she developed and executed media campaigns for a financial services firm and Roche Pharmaceuticals.

"Jim, Eric and Denise bring tremendous value our offering," says Tim McHale, CEO of Underscore Marketing. "Their deep media expertise adds significantly to Underscore’s ability to offer its clients first-rate media stewardship as we enter the age of cross-platform media experiences."

"This new trio of media veterans represents the future of this firm," adds Tom Hespos, Underscore president. "Our mission is to have experienced media generalists who can offer our clients best of class service. The addition of Jim, Eric and Denise strongly supports that development strategy for our agency."
