Oliver Nelson // Vice President
Oliver currently leads the Global Integrated Media team at Underscore and ensures the right qualified media experts transform the way our clients experience media and achieve fantastic results. In his career, Oliver has worked on the following brands: ExxonMobile, Dannon, Yescarta, Sovaldi, Victoza, Tresiba, Saxenda, Novo Nordisk, Gilead, Bright Horizons, Pfizer, Advil, ThermaCare, Robitussin, Vagifem, Norditropin, and more.
Oliver has had a passion for search and biddable media throughout his career. Following the launch of his own search engine company in 2004, he has held multiple optimization roles in the world of marketing and advertising including Media Director, Global Search Lead, Supervisor, Market Performance Analyst, and Senior Marketing Coordinator. His most important role was to serve as a Captain in the United States Army Reserve – he deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom in 2013 in the role of a Military Intelligence Brigade Deputy G-2, serving as an all-source intelligence analyst and advisor to the commanding general of the Corps of Engineers in Afghanistan.
Underscore provides media thought leadership and work/life balance unique to the industry, routinely challenging Oliver to grow while providing a platform to influence and lead. One of the projects he’s most proud of is the Sovaldi and Hep-C-Hope lead generation search and media campaign - the complexity and detail required for success provided an intoxicating experience for the team! Weekly optimization and daily war-room meetings contributed to a campaign that exceeded every benchmark and KPI goal set.
When not in the office Oliver enjoys spending time with his family in Nanuet, seeking the next great craft beer. He is also an avid horseback rider, licensed pilot, sailor, and UAS systems operator. Oliver consistently enjoys managing people and his preferred method of work is to empower and excite those around him - the more passionate the group, the better the product and the end result. Oliver relishes the opportunity to provide the vision and the drive to obtain results that exceed client expectations! He earned his BS in Marketing, as well as his Minor in History from Boston College. In addition, Oliver is a top graduate from the United States Army military intelligence school.
